British Taekwondo Nationals 2024

Our team of eighteen athletes took part in this year’s National Kyorugi Championships at the English Institute of Sport arena in Sheffield. The competition was across two days for both A class and B class athletes and welcomed around 1000 entrants.

Day one of competition for advanced athletes we had Aimee, Charlie, Eva, Lexi, Mia and Max take to the mats with all athletes making their Nationals debut. This was a busy and eventful day with all athletes fighting well their first round with positives to take forwards. Eva progressed to a second round, taking a bronze medal in her division. Max progressed into the final in his division fighting well to take the gold medal and become the new British National champion in his division.

Our novices took part in day two. We had Amelia, Aslan, Beau, Caelan, Danny, Leo, Magnus, Mason, Millie, Rosie, Robbie and Spencer. With 7 out of 12 athletes making their Nationals debut. We had some fantastic performances from our Peewees, children and Cadet showing just how hard everyone has been working at training. Lots of good movement, ring management and confidence shown, with the variety of kicks on display. There were many exciting matches and great progressions through the rounds for some.

Beau and Robbie enjoyed three matches on the day, with a QF finish for Beau, and a silver medal finish for Robbie after a fantastic effort and well fought matches in both their respective divisions.

Many thanks to our fantastic RAW supporters who brought great energy and support to the team. We are pleased with the performances across the weekend and delighted to see how well everyone managed on the day of competition.
